In today’s world of technology and social media marketing, you must also tell the story of what you do.
By telling your brand story, you can better connect and engage with customers who help you fulfill your business goals and mission.
This is why it’s important for a real estate professional to have a content marketing strategy. Content marketing is a popular buzzword but mainly it just means creating a story around what it is that you do.
Content is king when it comes to search engines. In order to achieve higher rank through your SEO strategy, it’s important you have great content.
Here are some tips that should help you create real estate content that will improve your search ranking. This list isn’t extensive, but it should help you get started with your content marketing strategy.
1. Create Quality Content
This might seem like a simple suggestion, but it’s really important. In the sea of terrible content, you want yours to stand out from the rest. Really dive into your content. Share your real estate expertise. If you specialize in a particular area of real estate, create content around that topic! Don’t try to seem like you know it all, but focus on what you do know.
You are a real estate professional so that means you have knowledge that others don’t. Share that knowledge through quality content on a blog or in your other marketing channels.
2. Write Content for People, Not Search Engines
You might be thinking “but I’m supposed to get the search engines to notice me!” Yes, that is true. But it’s imperative that you create your content with human readers in mind. Writing for search engines leaves you with choppy, awkward content that is packed with keywords and links, but not much else. A human reader can usually spot content like this from a mile away.

The secret is that when you create this great content for humans, they will want to read it and share it with their friends and network. This is how the search engines will take notice. And speaking of keywords, don’t use them in un-natural ways. This won’t make your content popular with readers…they will just begin to tune it out.
3. Answer Questions
When a potential home buyer performs a search on Google, chances are he types it in the form of a question. This might include things like:
- Who are the best California Real Estate agents?
- What is the best city to buy a home in California?
- Which real estate company in San Diego is best?
- How do I know if I’m ready to buy a house?
The best way you can create content to improve your search ranking is by answering these types of questions. Write a blog post about how potential buyers can know if they are ready to purchase a home. The next time someone does a search about that, your post may show up. This is also a good tip for helping real estate professionals come up with content ideas.
Think about all the questions you have been asked by clients and customers through the years. Chances are if one person had the question, others will too. Create content that answers these questions to establish yourself as an industry leader and an expert in your field.
