Real estate agents can get so involved in the selling of a property that they forget to take advantage of the community around it. The neighborhood or town a house sits it can be a major selling point and is often overlooked by busy real estate agents caught up in making a sale.
With any property you can count on the selling agent knowing some very basic facts about the area. But school zones, nearby shopping, traffic, average utilities, and other factoids don’t really speak to the community surrounding a house.
By really getting to know the community surrounding a property, a real estate agent can show their clients what they have a chance to be a part of. Here are a few ideas of what to highlight for your clients.
1) Developer Amenities- Does your listing sit in a planned community featuring amenities that encourage residents to participate in their community?
Clubhouses and pools are perfect places for getting to know your neighbors and begin building relationships. Sidewalks and walking paths encourage residents to get out and explore and interact with each other.
2) Parks And Playgrounds- These are especially important for families with young children. They not only encourages kids to make friends and learn to play well with others, but they are great places for parents to build friendships with other parents.
Young parents often find great solace and support in making friends who are also dealing with the challenges of raising children. And don’t forget, parks also provide great outdoor activities for adults, too.
Running/hiking trails and basketball and tennis courts are great places to reach out to like minded people in your community. And don’t forget local league sports like softball and flag football.
3) Local Celebrations- Living in a neighborhood or town with great local traditions can be a lot of fun. Beer and food festivals, Christmas parades and Fourth of July fireworks shows, and book festivals and craft shows all contribute to a sense of community.
Let your clients know about fun local traditions and get them excited about moving in.
