3.) Real Estate Postcards-

Postcards are the perfect low-tech, low-cost and proven way to reach out for leads. Send them to past clients to keep your name in their head. Send them to targeted demographics. They’re small, to the point, don’t have to be opened, and don’t take much time for the recipient to consume.

They’re cheap and effective, so don’t turn your nose up because they’re not ultra modern.

Remember, there’s always somewhere you can dig up leads. You just have to be creative.

If you show a broker you understand how to network, you’re good at what you do, and will be an asset by highlighting your accomplishments, they’re going to bring you on board.

2.) Keep It Simple-

Your resume isn’t the place for your creativity to shine. Nor is it a place to blather about every personal aspect of your life. The real estate industry is not a field where fancy fonts, colors, and striking paper choices are appreciated. Stick to basics with your resume. It’s not the time to be flashy. You should also avoid including personal information in your resume. It’s not the place to share your life story, your personal preferences, or your sense of humor. Keep it professional by keeping it simple.

3.) Keep It Current And Relevant-

1.) Sell The Benefits Of Living Economically-

It wasn’t that long ago that people were clamoring for great big, new homes. That’s changed with the economy. Selling smaller homes is easier as people are looking for ways to live cheaper. A smaller house means a smaller house payment, which frees up a lot of money for other lifestyle choices and necessities.

Want that kid to go to college? Buy my listing. Sure, it’s tight, but the payments are about seventy-five bucks a month.

2.) Sell The Green-

Everyone is concerned about the environment these days, right? What better way to reduce your carbon footprint than by moving into a tiny house? Think of the small electrical bills. Think of how many trees you’ll save. By moving into this small house, you’re saving the polar bears. Literally.

You don’t have to feel bad making this sales pitch. That’s because it’s true.

3.) Harness The Power Of The Sun-

Open the curtains, roll up the blinds and let the light in. Better yet, get rid of the curtains and blinds altogether. One less thing taking up space where space is already an issue.

Make the place look bright with as much natural light as you can muster.

4.) Lose The Clutter-

This goes without saying for any house, right? But when your listing is small, or worse, freakishly small house, you really need to take clutter removal to the next level. If it isn’t nailed down, convince your clients to get it out of there.

That includes, furniture, shelves, clothes, toasters, and anything you can ditch. Are there two chairs in the tiny living room? Lose one of them. Or lose both if you can. Get everything off the counters in the kitchen and bathrooms. Lose the rugs. All of it. Gone. Rent a storage pod and stuff it full.

There was a time when conventional wisdom said that fall was perhaps the worst season for selling homes. Little Johnny and Suzie are back in school and families aren’t looking to move. Then comes Thanksgiving and Christmas, and no one wants to be busy moving during their Idyllic, Rockwellian holidays, right? And who wants to drive around in the cold looking at houses?

This thinking was great in 1960. Not so much now. People aren’t sticking to old traditions. Millennials aren’t having kids at twenty-three, and more single folks want houses than ever before. Looking at houses isn’t the chore it used to be thanks to the internet. You can look at plenty of houses on your phone during your lunch break.

The point is that fall is as good a season as any for selling homes. Almost. Spring is still king. But you can make sales in fall, too.

Serious Buyers Don’t Care What Month It Is-

People looking for their dream home don’t care what the calendar says. If they fall in love with a house, they’re going to make a move. Fall is perfect for some people because the kids are at school (out of the way), and most people aren’t planning a beach trip in the fall.

A lot of folks still consider fall and winter dead times for real estate and don’t start trying to sell until spring. That means there’s less competition for a motivated real estate agent in the fall. There’s less inventory available, so what listings you do have may seem a little more shiny to house hunters.

People Want To Get Outside-

Like spring, fall is a break from extreme weather. It’s  suddenly not 100 degrees outside and people are actually happy to get outside and do something.
