4 Common Reasons Some Agents Fail

There’s a lot of reasons some folks don’t last long in real estate. Regardless of what you may have heard, it’s not an easy job. If you decide to take a run at real estate, you better be ready to work hard and you better have some guts or you won’t last long. Here are some of the more common reasons new agents fail early.

1.) They Can’t Handle Rejection-

A big part of real estate is putting yourself out there. It’s not always easy and you have to figure out what works for you when it comes to reaching out to potential customers and breaking the ice. But you have to be prepared for rejection. If you become a real estate agent, you’re going to hear it a lot. It’s not personal, and you have to be able to carry on without becoming gun shy. Get out there and prospect, and continue prospecting until you get some clients.

2.) They Won’t Define Their Niche-

What kind of client are you going to specialize in? While it’s not a good idea to limit potential clients, it never hurts to brand yourself as a specialist in dealing with particular a particular niche. You can seek further education and certifications to make you more knowledgeable when it comes to dealing with certain kinds of clients. For example, military personnel, multi-generational families, retired people, or even millennials. If you build a reputation for servicing a particular community, you can build your business on it.

3.) They Won’t Embrace Current Technology-

Get on Facebook, learn to use Twitter, and find some apps that make being a real estate agent easier. If you’re afraid of social media, you need to get over it. Social media has proven itself an invaluable tool for real estate professionals. And you need a smart phone. Don’t whip out your flip phone in front of a millennial client. There are all kinds of apps available for your smartphone that are designed to make your job as an agent easier. Look them up. No one want to work with a dinosaur that can’t communicate via modern technology. Get with the times or get passed by.

4.) They Won’t Keep In Touch-

If you aren’t reaching out to your past clients and keeping those relationships alive, you’re blowing it. Keep your name in their mind so when they do need to move again or have friends thinking about it, they call you. Word of mouth may not be as flashy as a well made Facebook page, but it’s priceless. Stay in your clients’ lives, even if it’s just to send a Christmas card.

Generating Micro Content for your Real Estate Business

Big Block Realty wants all our agents to have the latest helpful tools to increase their success.

Learning how to use social media for you real estate business is a vital skill in today’s market.

Building a successful career with a 100% commission real estate business is about learning new ways to use technology and marketing skills.

If you’re like most real estate agents working today, you’re spending at least some of your day on social media as part of your internet marketing strategy. You’ve probably been hearing a lot about micro content lately.

That’s because micro content is on its way to becoming the only content that matters anymore. The way consumers are interacting with advertisers online is changing.

The mobile device is about to surpass desktop computers as the primary way people are accessing the internet, communicating, and doing business transactions online.

And if you want to keep up with your customers, you’ve got to go where they’re at. That means making content suitable for mobile devices. And that means generating micro content.

Micro content is loosely defined as short, easily digestible content that your followers can view and consume quickly. Your followers are spending an hour after work or before bed on their desktops surfing the internet.

They’re accessing their mobile devices while waiting in lines, riding elevators, and on their breaks at work. Your content has to be quick and easy or it’s going to get overlooked.

So what does all this mean for real estate agents? Actually, the concept of micro content is perfect for the real estate industry.

An agent can put up a quick photo of a listing’s best selling feature with the address and a short blurb. Enough to pique the interest of a follower looking for a specific property.

An agent can generate other micro content about open houses, neighborhood spotlights, or even quick walk through of a home.

When it comes to internet marketing, real estate agents should embrace micro content tailor made for mobile devices.

How to grow your email list with your Facebook page

Big Block Realty wants all our agents to have the latest helpful tools to increase their success.

Learning how to leverage social media for you real estate business is a vital skill in today’s market.

Building a successful career with a 100% commission real estate business is all about staying hungry to learn about new methods, technology, and skills.

With Facebook making it harder and harder for your company’s organic content to get views without paying, it might be time to leverage your Facebook page for some traffic for your website or newsletters.

It seems only fair as Facebook increasingly makes paid ads the only sure fire way for your content to make it to your followers. Here’s a few ideas for exploiting your company’s Facebook page for traffic elsewhere.

Put A Button On Your Facebook Page-

Put a tab on your page so all your followers have to do to subscribe for your newsletter is click their mouse.

If they are on your Facebook page, they already interested in your company, so it’s not that big a stretch to assume they might be interested in signing up for your newsletter from there.

Give them the option, and make the button pop. Don’t try to get sign ups by being boring.

Link To Your Website-

Give your Facebook followers and visitors the option to go to your company’s website by hitting a link. It skips a lot of steps and puts them right into your most organic content.

From there, your signup form should do the rest of the work for you if it’s designed well.

But keep in mind your Facebook page is a portal to your website and your product or service, so don’t get lazy, sloppy, or unimaginative on Facebook.

Make sure it remains a top priority.

Build Interest-

Remember one of the first rules of social media marketing: offer something of value. Or at least offer something interesting.

There’s all kinds of ways to get people interested in your company’s website through your Facebook page. Try touting some great content on your website with a short and sweet video.

Give a quick word as to why your visitors might benefit from taking the trip over to your website. Pique curiosity and give them a reason. Give visitors a good experience and they’ll sign up for your email list.

These are just a few ways to build up your email list through Facebook. See if they work for you.

3 Big Social Media Changes For 2015 In Real Estate

Big Block Realty knows how important it is to stay informed about technology. We want our agents to be willing to learn about new tech in order to do the best job possible for their clients.

Building a reputation for a 100% commission real estate business is all about staying informed and on the cutting edge of modern business skills in order to make sure we’re doing everything possible for our clients.

Never stop learning to make your career in real estate a successful one!

Social media marketing is permanently in a state of flux due to growing technology and ever changing and evolving business models. Most real estate agents are using one or more social media platforms for their business, so it’s important to be aware of changes across the spectrum for 2015.

social media, communication in the global computer networks

Here are a few to look out for.

1) The New Guys- People have had a lot of issues with the big guys on the block lately. Users are tired of invasive advertising, privacy breaches, and the collection of demographics. So new platforms have popped up making promises and trying to focus on particular niche users.

The new guys will have their work cut out for them, though. Facebook has well over a billion users and is constantly growing. Twitter isn’t far behind. But that doesn’t mean you should discount new networks for your business.

Wait and see how they perform and don’t be adverse to trying new things.

2) Social Media Driven Ecommerce- This fall, hacks revealed Facebook already has a hidden payment feature in its messenger app. That’s a lot of users ready to exchange money and goods.

Don’t be surprised if this becomes the next big thing. Merchants will be all over this as it will turn social media into one big virtual mall for them to exploit.

3) It’s Going To Get Expensive- With so much endless streaming content out there, it’s getting harder for posts to get to significant numbers of followers and fans.

That means paid ads like the ones on Facebook (which are seen way more than a conventional post), are going to become the safest way to ensure your content gets viewed.

This also means businesses are going to have to start reaching out on more platforms.

These are just a few of the changes many experts are predicting for the immediate future. Make sure you’re ready for them.

Big Block Realty wants everyone to have the helpful tools that will increase their success. Try Big Block Realty if you’re interested in pursuing a rewarding career with a top earning, 100% commission real estate brokerage!
