Real Estate Entrepreneur Success Tips

AID-100159548s a real estate professional, you are essentially an entrepreneur.

There are many benefits to this lifestyle, from having more control over your career to experiencing the freedom to set your goals high as well as determine your schedule and tasks.

Entrepreneurship also has its challenges, one of which was mentioned in a recent article by international sales expert and New York Times best-selling author, Grant Cardone.

In a featured article in “Entrepreneur” Cardone talked about entrepreneur burnout, or more specifically how he doesn’t believe in it.

Cardone’s advice is to step back and remember what it was like when you first started out in the business.

What were your goals?

What was driving you at that time?

Maybe you are just now starting out.

Remember these early days because challenges will come.

But with the right attitude and drive, you can achieve great things!

Here are a few key takeaways we got from the article. Hopefully these tips will help you in your real estate career!

  • Set a Goal – What are you working toward? Without a goal, you’ll just be putting forth a lot of effort without knowing where to direct it. When you reach your goal, set a new one. Never stop setting goals and pushing yourself to be better than you thought you could be.
  • Don’t get Comfortable – Cardone says comfort is a dangerous thing. Complacency means you are no longer pushing yourself. Don’t let yourself get complacent or comfortable. Keep your edge and stay competitive.
  • Look to the Future – This goes along with having a goal, but it’s more than that. Picture yourself in the future. What does your life look like? What do you look like? Who do you see yourself surrounded by? When you can visualize these things, you can begin to set goals that will help them become a reality. Always keep the future in the forefront of your mind.
  • Challenge Yourself – Take on new tasks that challenge and stretch you outside of your comfort zone. This is an important part of being successful as a real estate professional and an entrepreneur. Keep your entrepreneurial spirit alive by reaching for more.

Real Estate Tips: How To Make Networking Work for You

Networking is an important part of career success and this applies to the real estate industry as well.

From growing your online influence to generating leads and enhancing opportunities for referrals, when done correctly, networking can have great impact on your business.

Real estate industry events are one way to network, but don’t limit yourself to these alone.

Since real estate is a people business, networking can pretty much be done anywhere people are.

The next time you have the opportunity to do some networking, consider the following:

1. Plan Ahead –

Know who you are talking to.

If you are attending an event, have a game plan before you arrive. Set goals for the networking opportunity.

These will vary depending on your unique circumstances, but it might include something like:

– Try to speak to at least 5 people

– Get 10 business cards

– Research the other attendees so when you meet them, you’ll know something about them.

You can find more on our other post: “5 Tips for Real Estate Networking Success

2. It’s Not About You –

We’ve all been there. Stuck at a networking event with a person who only wants to talk about himself.

Don’t be that guy (or gal). Ask questions. Show that you are interested in what others have to say.

Be genuine and authentic and employ active listening.

You will make a much better impression if you make other people feel heard than if you try to do all the talking.

3. Look for an Opportunity to Help –

This is where talking about yourself comes in.

As you are listening to what others have to say, look for opportunities to help.

Maybe they will mention that their child just went off to college and they need a smaller house.

Maybe they will say their family is growing and their current house isn’t big enough.

Maybe they are looking for a trustworthy service professional to help with some home repairs.

This is your chance to offer some valuable advice or insight that will help cement the connection.

The other person will come away from the interaction feeling like they got something out of it and you will have generated a new lead using a proven method.

4. Follow Up –

This is probably the most important aspect of networking.

After you have made connections with different people, take the time to follow up. Reach out and remind them that you met.

The follow-up is your chance to share more information about yourself and your business.

Ask them if you may add them to your email newsletter list or share a link to your social media channels.

Don’t let a possible networking opportunity fall flat because you didn’t take the time to follow up.

If you are serious about taking your real estate career to the next level, consider networking as a way to grow your brand and generate new leads.

And if you’re looking for new career opportunities, consider joining Big Block Realty!

Social Media Success for Real Estate Pros: Using Pinterest

As a real estate professional, it’s important that you spend time developing your personal brand. Who you are online carries a great deal of weight these days, considering how social media is driving the business world.

Big Block Realty is California’s leading 100% Commission Brokerage for many reasons, but one of them is that we are committed to our agents’ success.

We believe that success comes when Realtors have the tools and education they need to operate in today’s industry and part of having success as a real estate professional is about using social media.

One social media platform that real estate professionals are beginning to use more and more is Pinterest. Not only is it a way to push web traffic to your site, but it also provides a chance for you to establish your brand identity online.

Below are a few solutions for using Pinterest in real estate. By incorporating these easy tips into your social media strategy for real estate, you can increase your leads and grow your sphere of influence to reach more customers.

1. Promote Your Listings

Pinterest is a visual platform and what better arena for photos of your amazing properties and other listings? By using Pinterest to share photos of new listings, just sold properties and other real estate, you can get your content in front of a wider audience (and it’s free!).

2. Create Content to be Shared

Social media shouldn’t be all about selling. It’s a great way to create content that establishes yourself as a leader in your industry. Share helpful, engaging information on Pinterest so that others can share it with their circles.

When you write blog posts or other content to promote your real estate business, think about how easily digestible it is. Use simple language, bullet points and lists to format content that is likely to be shared.

3. Take Better Photos

Professional photography helps, but even if you take photos with your iPhone, you can spend more time making sure they are great quality.

Photos on Pinterest are more likely to be re-pinned when they are interesting and eye-catching. There are also lots of apps that allow you to add text and titles to your photos.

Photos with text have a greater chance of being shared on Pinterest because they stand out from those without text or titles.

Another way you can improve your photos is by creating tags and captions for them. Use keywords that are likely to be searched.

By following these simple tips, you can use Pinterest to grow your real estate business.

Do you aspire to be a million dollar agent? A career in real estate allows you to leverage your potential in a way that no other industry or field can. If you’d like to learn more about a career with Big Block Realty, we’d love to hear from you!

What is an Elevator Pitch and Why Does it Matter

ID-100166775If you’ve spent even the slightest amount of time in the world of business and entrepreneurship, you’ve no doubt heard of the infamous elevator pitch. An elevator pitch is a short conversation or spiel that you can have with someone (in an elevator perhaps) in a quick minute or two that gives them an understanding of your business.

The idea comes from the theory that you might only have a minute or two with another person on an elevator and that you should be able to express your brand’s unique selling points concisely and quickly.

In real estate, it’s all about connecting with people. When you do this, you will increase your opportunities for leads, clients and sales. Think about the last time someone randomly asked you what you do. Did you have a polished response at the ready or were you standing them stammering and searching for words?

Not only is an elevator pitch intended to help you sell, it also helps you explain who you are and what you do in a way that is memorable and engaging.

Here are some tips that can help you figure out how to craft an elevator pitch that will help you see results:

1. Focus on the benefits – Get right to the point of what you have to say by focusing on the benefits that your brand or business provides. This helps people understand what you can do for them, which is often what we are all thinking when someone starts sharing sales info.

2. Demonstrate Credibility – Nobody likes a chronic name-dropper, but if you have a connection that is substantial, feel free to mention that. Sometimes a familiar name helps provide a foot in the door and it lends credibility to your business or brand.

3. Keep it Short & Sweet – Don’t try to share too much in your elevator speech. Keep it short and to the point. Provide a few details and explain your expertise. Give them the proverbial sizzle, just not the steak.

4. Motivate them to Act – You aren’t just talking to hear yourself speak. When you share a pitch, end it with something that spurs the listener to action. Whether this is closing the deal on a sale or signing a new client, be up front and clear about what you want and how they can act on it.

5. Be Yourself – You are the face of your brand. Be authentic and genuine. People appreciate that and it will cause you to stand out from the crowd. Show your passion and enthusiasm for what you do and it will be contagious for others.

When you understand the importance of having an elevator pitch, you can begin to craft one that is engaging and memorable. These are just a few ways that you can advance your real estate career by promoting your personal brand.

How To Get More Real Estate Business, Start Getting More Clients FAST by Big Block Realty California’s Favorite 100% Commission Real Estate Brokerage

How To Get More Real Estate Business, Start Getting More Clients FAST.

The most important aspect of becoming a successful Realtor is Lead Generation.  Every Realtor already knows that.

The question then becomes…..how to do it successfully?

There are three major areas that you need to focus on when it comes to Lead Generation.  The first is Prospecting.

Successful Realtors spend a minimum of 2 hours per day on Prospecting.

There are several ways to prospect.

They are:
-Cold Calling
-Networking
-Craigslist Ads
-Internet Marketing
-Social Media

You do not have to do all of these strategies.

In fact, you really only need to focus on 2-3 of these.  Try to focus on the strategies that are a good fit for you.  Regardless of the strategies you pick, you must spend a minimum of 2 hours per business day on these prospecting strategies.

The second area of Lead Generation is your database.  Database is the life line of every Realtor.

Your database will consist of two groups of people.

The first will be people you’ve already met, and the second will be a targeted group of people you haven’t met yet.

These groups will bring you three types of businesses.

  • The first will be new business.
  • The second will be repeat business.
  • The third will be referral business.

The key here is to develop a database management system  to make sure you are constantly “dripping” on your database.

The third major area of prospecting is Marketing to your Database.

Regardless of how you are marketing to your database, the key here is OVERKILL!

You should be following up with your leads every day until they either buy a property from you or they tell you to stop contacting them.  The biggest mistake that Realtors will make is that they are too “nice”.  Meaning they don’t following up as much as they should because they don’t want to “bother” their clients.

If you want more business, it is up to you to go and get it!
