Relaxation methods fight stress as well. Some people try yoga or meditation. Others get results by taking a leisurely stroll through a city park or trail.
Companionship is another great way to beat realtor stress. Making the time to get together with family and friends is a proven way to combat stress from the job. It often does wonders to talk about our stresses with the people we’re closest to. Even spending time with a beloved pet is proven to lower stress levels. Try tossing your dog a frisbee or playing with your cat.
It might seem silly, but superstitions such as knocking on a wooden table, not walking under a ladder, or going out of your way to avoid a black cat crossing your path can actually have real life benefits. These things give us sense of overcoming bad luck, and therefore add to our overall emotional state. It’s all in the mind, but hey, whatever works, right?
Another good mental technique for battling stress is to create positive self fulfilling prophecies. Often what we expect to happen happens. Keep a positive outlook and expect things to work out. Even if they don’t in the end, you will have defeated the stress caused by dread, both physically and mentally.
We often attack the biggest problems in our life first, neglecting the smaller victories we could be achieving in the moment. Sometimes we need to build up steam by taking the little wins we can achieve quickly. These smaller victories will add up to greatly reduce overall stress.
