The year is coming to an end and it’s time to look back and evaluate your performance. If you’re not doing some reflection, you’re missing out on a great chance to recognize what’s working and what’s not. It’s more than just looking at your numbers and being satisfied. It’s about doing some genuine self evaluation and finding ways to do things better. Here are a few areas to take a look at.

Time Management- Ask yourself how you’re spending your time. You might be surprised to find you can’t answer that simple question with a simple answer. As real estate agents, we all have to contend with generating leads, showing listings, paperwork, meetings, etc. There’s simply no getting around it. There’s also the unexpected. So it might be a good idea to track your time. See where your time is going and to what end. See if you can find better ways to manage your time through planning or enlisting the help of a virtual assistant.

Promotions- Is your marketing working for you? Is your social media getting you the results you want? Are your open houses getting people in? If your promotions are not getting the results you want, it might be time to start figuring out why. Identify which promotions got the best results and expand on them while dropping the ones that underperformed.

Identify Your Core Clients- Take a look at all your clients from the past year. Who are they? Identify who is buying from you the most. Young families? Retirees? Singles? Your particular sales territory will have a lot to do with determining this. Once you figure out who your core demographic is, you can reach out to them more effectively.

These are just a few ways you can look back on your year and evaluate your performance. Learn from your past to improve your future.
