Real Estate Success Tips: Growing Your Personal Brand

Some real estate brokers claim their agents are entrepreneurs, but from the way things are set up, it feels like many actually operate as employees.

Here at Zero Broker Split, California’s leading 100% commission real estate brokerage, our agents truly are entrepreneurs!

As entrepreneurs, it’s vital that you think about your personal brand. A good brand shows what you do, who you do it with and where you do it.

Our broker at Big Block is committed to providing our agents the education and professional development opportunities they need to have success.

That’s why we wanted to share some success tips for developing your own personal brand here on the blog.

1. Target a Niche Market

One way to build your real estate brand is to target a niche market. Some examples of niche markets to target when building your real estate brand is baby boomers, first-time home buyers, or investment buyers.

If you can build a strong brand that speaks to a particular niche (or several different niche market segments), you can increase your opportunities to engage with clients and make those big sales.

2. Go where your customers are

After you identify and target your niche market, it’s important to identify where they are so you can begin building a presence there too.

If your niche market is on Facebook, you should build a strong Facebook presence. By finding out where you niche is, you can begin communicating with the market in a way that resonates.

3. Have Integrity

No matter what specific brand attributes you aspire to have, at the end of the day real estate is a business of people. Without integrity you will never be able to take your real estate brand where you want it to go.

Demonstrate integrity and your clients will recognize that. All the branding and marketing in the world can’t make up for something as simple as being honest and upstanding.

A career in real estate allows you to leverage your potential in a way that no other industry or field can. If you’d like to learn more about a career with Big Block Realty, we’d love to hear from you!

How to Help Home Buyers Find the Right Home

In your career as a real estate professional, you will work with many clients. It’s important to help them find what they want. Whether clients are first-time home buyers or more seasoned real estate veterans looking to trade up, a good real estate agent can help make the home buying process a positive experience.

how to help homebuyersIn order for a real estate professional to help his or her clients find what they are looking for, you must first know what that is.

Recently, the National Association of Home Builders released its findings from a survey that was aimed at determining key concerns of home buyers.

The study is a helpful tool for real estate agents because it illustrates what home buyers are looking for in homes and properties they are considering.

One key bit of data from the research shows that first time home buyers have very different concerns and needs than home buyers looking to trade up.

As a realtor with Big Block Realty, this information can help you depending on what your client’s current situation might be.

If you are a real estate agent working with a first time home buyer, you might want to consider the following:

Price –

First time home buyers named price as a key factor in the home buying process. If you are working with a first time home buyer, ask them to honestly consider what price range they can afford.

In doing this, you can help them find homes and properties that are within their budget and avoid looking at any properties that are too far-reaching for their price point.

Proximity –

We’ve all heard the saying “Location, location, location,” but this is especially important to first time home buyers. Some people are willing to make a longer commute but many want to live as close to their jobs as possible.

Take this into consideration when deciding which homes and properties to show a potential buyer. If the location isn’t right, there’s a good chance the house won’t be either.

According to the study, 38% of first time buyers ranked price as the most important factor while 38% cited location as the primary determinant.

Perhaps you are working with a client known as a trade up buyer. Here are some issues to keep in mind:

Home Design –

Trade up buyers, according to the NAHB research, are concerned about a home’s design. This is probably due to the fact that they have already lived in other homes and learned what they want or don’t want from a design stand-point.

Sometimes a home can have great bones and just need some updating, but if a buyer doesn’t love the key elements of a home, he or she probably never will.

As a real estate professional, it’s important that you help steer your clients in the right direction…toward homes and properties you know they will love!

Neighborhood Characteristics –

This is another area where trade up buyers seem to know exactly what they want. It’s probably due in part to the fact they have already lived in various neighborhoods and they know what does and doesn’t work for them.

Maybe they are trading up because of an addition to the family and are looking for a more family-friendly neighborhood.

Regardless, as a real estate professional, you can help them find the neighborhood and property that will meet their needs.

36% of trade up buyers responded that the design of the home was their prevailing concern while 28% cited the design and look of the neighborhood as most important.

Good luck out there, you are going to kick butt!Neighborhood houses big block realty

Real Estate Tips: Working with a Difficult Client

You probably got into the field of real estate because, on some level, you enjoy working with people. While a career in real estate  is fun and exciting, all real estate agents have had to deal with a difficult client from time to time.

This can be frustrating, but with these tips, you can take those difficult client situations and turn them into positive opportunities for success in your real estate career.

1. Don’t Take it Personal –

It’s important to remember that a client who is hard to work with is not trying to make your life miserable. It probably has nothing to do with you.

Buying and selling a house or property can be a stressful thing and emotions usually run high during this process.

Be a calm, cool, and collected sounding board for your client and he or she will thank you later!

2. Create Boundaries –

While it’s important to be gracious to your clients, you also have to decide what you will and won’t put up with.

Usually by setting healthy boundaries, your client will end up respecting you more in the long run.

3. Be the Expert –

Sometimes realtors end up working with clients who think they know more about selling or buying real estate than they actually do. As the realtor, you are the expert and it’s important that you let your clients know this.

In doing so, they will feel more at ease and confident in the fact that you are capable of helping them.

4. Be Flexible –

If your client is difficult, you can make more progress by being flexible than by butting heads.

5. Listen –

Many times, clients come across as difficult when the real issue is that they don’t feel heard. If you are a good listener, you can pick up on what they might not be saying.

If you can figure out what your clients wants and help them find it, you’ll have a loyal customer for life!

A good client experience can become a solid source of referrals for your business for many years.

Here at Big Block Realty, we believe in investing in our agents’ success. We are California’s leading 100% commission real estate brokerage and as part of our team, you will keep your entire commission while still enjoying all the perks of working with an industry leader such as Big Block.
